Do what you like at an open mic night at The Wedding Barn, or go bowling multiple ways, plus a BBQ party this Friday.

There are multiple ways to go bowling – or just hang out at the lanes, plus ways to give back to the community or hit the road with running clubs this week.

Thursday

Belt out some tunes at open mic night at The Wedding Barn at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22 at 323 E. Franklin St. in Oviedo. There will be food from Fat Sally’s. Learn more

Get your car washed for a cause: Eagle Scout Troop 931 will host a car wash from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24 at the 7-Eleven gas station on the corner of Lockwood Boulevard and County Road 419. Funds will help to build a sensory garden at Stenstrom Elementary School. Learn more

Enjoy “Mingle Mondays” with varied activities every Monday from 10 a.m.-noon at Palm Medical Centers, 220 Alafaya Woods Blvd. in Oviedo. Anyone aged 65 and older can participate in a different activity every week, such as rock painting, charades, bingo, trivia and more. Learn more.

Take part in four rounds of live pub-style trivia with the Five Minute Professor from 7-9 p.m. every Monday at Rock & Brews, 7131 Red Bug Lake Road in Oviedo. Questions cover topics such as history, geography, pop music, TV shows, science, nature, movie stars and space travel.
