Oviedo Brewing Company announces closure

Just days after the closure of the Irish 31 pub, another Oviedo eatery and bar announces its impending end.

Oviedo’s only brewery is closing down, as the proprietors of Oviedo Brewing Company announced Tuesday.

The expansive brewery greeting patrons as they pull into Oviedo Mall’s north entrance has been a family nightlife or weekend staple since right before St. Patrick’s Day of 2019, offering food, drinks, live music, and an outdoor patio and small lawn where you’d find visitors playing cornhole or watching sports.

The business is the second restaurant and bar to close in the same location in the last decade, preceded by Bill’s Elbow South.

With the announcement of the closure, well-wishers and shocked customers expressed their thoughts on the loss of the popular event venue. The brewery helped host the Oviedo Night Market for several years.

“I will miss spending time with you and your team every Tuesday evening when I came by for my weekly visit to have a pint of your Zen, the best craft beer I have ever had!” Oviedo Mall Development Director Kevin Hipes wrote in response to the closure announcement on Facebook.

“This is a sad day for Oviedo,” Oviedo Jeep Club member Michael Hitt wrote on Facebook. “The Brewery was Oviedo Jeep club’s second home. Wish you the best Vishal and family. Hope to see you all out and about. Thank you so much for all you’ve done for us!

Its final day, per the brewery’s official announcement, will be Feb. 28, marking nearly 6 years in business. Events will continue at the brewery until then, including a Night Market outside of the brewery from 5-9 p.m. this Friday, Jan. 8.
