Cory Mills to hold town hall in Oviedo Thursday

U.S. Rep. Cory Mills is currently under House investigation for sexual misconduct, ethics violations. He will hold two town hall events this week.

U.S. Rep. Cory Mills will hold two in-person town halls this week, including one in Oviedo on Thursday.

The Oviedo town hall event will be held Thursday, Jan. 29 from 6:30 – 8 p.m. at the Oviedo Cultural Center at 357 Center Lake Drive in Oviedo. There’s also a town hall Wednesday, Jan. 28 at The Brannon Center at 105 S. Riverside Drive in New Smyrna Beach.

“I’m excited to hear directly from Florida 7th District constituents at my upcoming town hall,” Mills wrote on Instagram. “Your questions, concerns, and ideas matter, and I’m committed to open, honest conversations and delivering real results for our community.”

According to the registration page, attendees must provide their name and bring a driver’s license showing they are a resident of House District 7. The events were first announced via email on Jan. 23. Registration closes 24 hours before each event; so for the Oviedo event, registration ended at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 28.

At Mills town hall Wednesday night, recording inside was not allowed, according to WKMG, a member of the News Collaborative of Central Florida. Mills was repeatedly asked about Immigrations and Customs Enforcement operations, and at one point sparred with attendees. Read the WKMG coverage of the New Smyrna town hall here.

Cory Mills Oviedo Town Hall Foreign Affairs

Mills has been under pressure from constituents to hold a town hall after news broke in February of 2025 that he was under investigation for an alleged assault in Washington, D.C. The alleged incident reportedly occurred at the 44-year-old Mills’ D.C. penthouse on Feb. 20.

No arrests were made. Residents have also voiced concerns about federal cuts coming from the Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE.

Sarah Raviani, the alleged assault victim, has since told The Floridian that while she did “involve the authorities” and “the personal matter in question was emotionally charged, there was no physical altercation.”

Mills is also the subject of a House Committee on Ethics investigation. Politico is reporting the committee is looking at whether Mills “broke House rules, laws or other standards in violating campaign finance rules; engaging in sexual misconduct or dating violence; or misusing his position or House resources; among other potential charges.”

Mills held a telephone-based town hall in April of 2025 with little notice. Critics of that call said it sounded scripted.

Residents at an Oviedo City Council meeting in March of last year demanded Mills hold a town hall with constituents after the allegations broke. Mills, who is up for election in November, has not held an open, in-person town hall in the past year, though he has held meetings with private groups.
