The first ¡Viva Oviedo! festival brought thousands of revelers who braved threatening skies to see Tito Puente Jr. and a slew of other Hispanic entertainers on Oct. 19. The event spanned the breadth of Center Lake Park with multiple stages, a dance floor, cultural and historic areas and a play area for children.
The event paid tribute to Oviedo’s sister city of Oviedo in the cool, mountainous Asturias region of northern Spain, while drawing attention to the thriving Hispanic community in the Oviedo area and in broader Seminole County.
