Dance the night away at the 5th Grade Prom from 6-9 p.m. Friday, May 12 at Oviedo Cultural Center, 357 Center Lake Lane in Oviedo. Tickets cost $25 and include food, chips and a drink. Learn to fish from Winter Springs Parks and Recreation staff members at the Fish Winter Springs event at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 13 at Central Winds Park, 1000 Central Winds Drive. Poles and bait will be available to use and kids will take home a free fishing pole. Registration is open to children ages 5 -12. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Learn more

Bring a green thumb to the City of Oviedo’s Arbor Day Tree Giveaway, starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 13 at City Hall, 400 Alexandria Blvd. Residents of Oviedo will be given two trees per household while enjoying vendors providing environmental education, coffee, donuts and more. Learn more

Bring a chair or a blanket for the City of Winter Springs’ Food Truck Thursday from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, May 18 at Trotwood Park, 701 Northern Way. Learn more

The Oviedo Brewing Night Market is from 5-10 p.m. Friday, May 19 at Oviedo Brewing Company. Local vendors will include Oviedo Olive Oil, Drunk Chicks Craft Sauces, Black Hammock Bee Farms, Rascal’s Rickin Beignets, and Riley Reigh’s Freeze Dried Sweets. There will also be chicken bingo. Enjoy game time with other adult seniors from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, May 25 at CrossLife Church’s Christian Life Center, 45 W. Broadway St., Room 112, in Oviedo. Summer Camps

Register your kids for Camp Sunshine with the City of Winter Springs, running each week from May 30 through July 28. The cost per week is $125 for residents and $210 for non-residents. Registration is first come, first served and will be capped at 65 campers. All fees must be paid by June 3. Learn more.

North Wind Martial Arts’ summer camp runs from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Friday the weeks of  May 29,  June 5, June 12, June 19 and June 26 at 1753 W. Broadway St. in Oviedo. Each day of camp will include two hours of karate instruction and a field trip. The camp focuses on routines and practices that foster respect, character, curiosity, knowledge and courtesy. The cost is $175 for a full week or $50 for a full day. There’s a $50 registration fee and the cost for additional children is discounted 10%. Learn more.

O2B Kids offers weekly themed summer camps from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday-Friday starting the week of May 29 and ending the week of July 31. Tuition costs $219 weekly. The camps group kids by age, with the youngest campers being in first grade and the oldest being 13 years old. Learn more.  

Camp Create, a summer art camp where kids will learn art theory while exploring new mediums, runs from 9 a.m. to noon Monday-Friday, June 26-30 at The Foundry Center, 1491 E. State Road 434 in Winter Springs. The camp, hosted by local artist Caryn Dahm, also includes outdoor play. The cost is $185 for the week and offers sibling discounts. Learn more

Penguin Point Productions offers one- and three-week performing arts summer camps for kids grades kindergarten through 12th and cost $150 or $400, respectively. Each camp has its own theme, including magic and Star Wars. Penguin Point is located at 1220 Oviedo Mall Blvd. Learn more

Master Roberts Taekwondo Summer Camps are for kids ages 4-12 and run from 9 a.m. to noon Monday-Friday, June 19-23 and July 24-28 at 980 Oviedo Blvd., Suite 1008, in Oviedo. Campers will work on Taekwondo skills as well as team building skills. The cost is $165. Learn more.

Songbirds Music, Art, & Dance Center will host several art-based camps from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Friday, each week starting on May 30 through Aug. 5 at 181 E. Mitchell Hammock Road in Oviedo. Most folks who attend this casual, social run start the run just before 6 p.m. Participants start in the parking lot of Oviedo’s Historic Celery Pre-cooler, located at 159 N. Central Ave. and run the distance of their choice along the Cross Seminole Trail. New members get a free T-shirt. Learn more.
