Local summer camp guide

As summer approaches, OCN has compiled a list of summer camps in Greater Oviedo and Winter Springs for kids of all ages. 

Arbor School

Arbor School offers a sensory-based summer camp that provides STEM and academic remediation, language and social skills training, sensory based activities, music and art. The camps run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays-Fridays from June 3-July 26 at Arbor School of Central Florida, 1010 Spring Villas Pointe in Winter Springs. Synchro Belles

Interested in artistic swimming? Join Synchro Belles Oviedo Summer Camp, running from 9-11 a.m. Aug. 5-9 at the Oviedo Aquatic Facility, 148 Oviedo Blvd. The camp is for boys and girls ages 6-18 who are comfortable with the water. The cost is $120. Learn more.

Integrity Dance Center

Dance your way through summer at Integrity Dance Center’s half-day dance camps running weekly all summer. Camps include a Royal Academy Princess Dance Camp, Trolls Hip Hop Camp, Wonka Dance Camp and Tik Tok Trends Camp. The camps are at the dace center, 1196 Tree Swallow Drive in Winter Springs. North Wind Martial Arts Academy

Learn karate and take field trips at North Wind Martial Arts’ summer camp, running from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays-Friday May 28-Aug. 8 at 1753 N. Broadway St. in Oviedo. The camp focuses on routines and skills that foster respect, character, curiosity, knowledge and courtesy. Learn more.

Mad Science

Enroll your kids in Mad Science’s super spy and chemistry lab-themed summer camps, made for grades K-4. The Super Spy Academy camp takes place 9 a.m. to noon Monday-Friday, June 10-14 at Kelly’s Homemade Ice Cream, 119 N. Central Ave., unit 1007, in Oviedo. The Chemistry Lab camp is 9 a.m. to noon Monday-Friday, July 15-19 in the same location. The cost is $189 until March 17. Learn more. Email Mad Science with questions. 

Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida – Oviedo Branch

Children ages 6-18 can enjoy the summer program at the Boys & Girls Club in Oviedo from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, June 3 through Aug. 2 at 55 Adeline B. Tinsley Way. Lunch and afternoon snack will be provided. The cost for children ages 6-12 is $40 per week. There is no cost for children ages 13 through 18 to attend. New members must pay a $30 membership fee. There will be some field trips and there’s a cost associated with those trips. Learn more.

Songbirds

Songbirds Music, Art, and Dance Center is offering 11 weekly creative camps all summer, with themes ranging from unicorns to Star Wars. All the camps take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (with extended hours available from 8-8:45 a.m. and from 4-6 p.m.) Monday-Friday at Songbirds Music, Art, & Dance Center, 181 E Mitchell Hammock Rd. in Oviedo. The price for each camp varies, and there is a $5 fee for extended hours in the morning, as well as a $10 fee for the afternoon. Learn more. 

Summer GOATS program

Enroll your children aged 4-14 in Greater Orlando Aquatics Team’s Summer GOATS program. This swimming camp takes place from 6-7 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday June 3-12 at Lake Howell Aquatics Center, 4200 Dike Road in Winter Park. The program costs $225, which includes a team t-shirt and a swim cap. Learn more.

Inspired Theater Company

Enroll your children in Inspired Theater Company’s Summer Theater Program, which takes place at varying times and dates from May 28 to Aug. 11 at 1014 Ward Circle in Oviedo. The cost ranges from $250-400. Different plays offered include Winnie the Pooh and The Music Man, and plays are available to participate in for grades K-12. Learn more. 

University Carillon

University Carillon is offering a variety of Christian-themed camps all summer, ranging from sports to STEM. The camps take place at different times from June 3 to Aug. 2 at University Carillon, 1395 Campus View Court in Oviedo. The price for each camp varies , but they all range from $25-$250, depending on the type of camp and duration. Learn more.

Imagine Performing Arts Center

Enroll your child in a dance or theater camp this summer. With various times from June 10 to Aug. 2, the camps take place at Imagine Performing Arts Center, 1220 Oviedo Mall Blvd. in Oviedo. Central Florida Girls Soccer Camp

Central Florida Girls Soccer Camp is hosting three summer soccer camp sessions for different ages: a Youth Day Camp for ages 4-12, a Youth Residential Camp for ages 9-14, and a Summer Identification and Development (ID) Camp for ages 13-21. The three camps take place on different times and dates at UCF Soccer Complex, 4275 E. Plaza Drive in Orlando. Learn more.

Winter Springs Summer Basketball Camp

Register your kids for the Winter Springs Basketball camps. Activities include contests and skill instruction. It runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (with a half-day option from 9 a.m. to noon) Monday-Friday during the weeks of May 28, June 3, and June 10 at Winter Springs High School, 130 Tuskawilla Road in Winter Springs. The camp in May costs $210 while the June camps cost $280. Half-day camps cost $210. Learn more.

A Kid’s Gym

A Kid’s Gym is offering 11 athletics summer camp sessions this summer for 1st-5th grade students, as well as different sessions for ages 2-6. They run from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday-Friday from May 28-Aug. 9 at A Kid’s Gym, 1495 Evans St., Unit 400, in Oviedo. The price varies per camp and age. Learn more.

Camp Sunshine

Register your kids entering grades 1-6 for Camp Sunshine, a nine-week day camp with activities encouraging creativity and leadership. The camp runs from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday May 30-July 28 at the Winter Springs Civic Center, 400 N. Edgemon Ave. in Winter Springs. The weekly cost is $125 for residents and $210 for non-residents. Learn more.

SportsTyme

Join SportsTyme for their sports-themed summer camp. The camp runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (early drop-off is offered from 7:30-9 a.m., and late pick-up from 4-6 p.m.) Monday-Friday, with weekly sessions from May 28 – July 26 at Indian Trails Middle School, 415 Tuskawilla Road in Winter Springs. The weekly cost is $195 if purchased before April 15, and becomes $210 after. There is also a one-time fee of $15 per camper and a weekly $10 fee for early drop-off and late pick-up. Learn more.+

Winter Springs Performing Arts Center

The Winter Springs Performing Arts Center is offering one-week non-audition summer camps all summer. Sessions are from 9 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Monday-Thursday, with a performance 3:45-4 p.m. on Friday, running from June 5-July 28. The camp is located at the Winter Springs Performing Arts Center, 1425 Tuskawilla Road, Suite 145, in Winter Springs. Prices range from $150-200. Learn more.

The Music Box

Enroll your kids in The Music Box’s variety of music-themed summer camps, from Ukulele Camp to a Taylor Swift Eras Camp. All sessions are from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday-Friday (exceptions for three-day camps, which are Monday-Wednesday). There are different sessions from May 29-Aug. 7, all located at 1331 Winter Springs Blvd. in Winter Springs. The price varies per camp, and there is a new student registration fee of $35 if your child is not already taking classes. Learn more.

Class Athlete

Join Class Athlete this summer for up to nine weeks of their all-sports camp designed for ages 5-14. All sessions are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (early drop-off 7-9 ap.m. and late pick-up from 5-6 p.m. is available) Monday-Friday from June 3-Aug. 9, excluding the week of July 4. The weekly cost is $150, with options to pay for multiple weeks at once. Learn more. 

Cheyne Ranch

Enroll your child in Cheyne Ranch’s horse-themed summer camp for ages 6-11. It takes place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday-Thursday, with an optional Friday add-on. There are four weeks offered from June 3-July 18. The weekly cost is $180, and the cost for Fridays is an additional $45. Learn more.

Oviedo School of Music

Oviedo School of Music is offering a music camp for all skill levels. It takes place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday-Friday, July 8-12 at 561 E. Mitchell Hammock Road, Suite 400, in Oviedo. The cost is $199, with an option to register for additional weeks in an Orlando location. Learn more.

Oviedo YMCA

Register your kids for Oviedo YMCA’s summer day camps, tailored for elementary school students and offered all summer. The camp takes place from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Friday (with the exclusion of some weeks) weekly from May 28 to Aug. 2, at 7900 Red Bug Lake Road in Oviedo. The cost is $245 for non-members and $180 for members, in addition to a one-time fee of $25. Learn more. 

Doodle Bugs

Enroll your children in Doodle Day Camp, made for ages 5-12 with weekly themes focusing on STEAM all summer. The camp takes place at varying times Monday-Friday (with some exclusions), May 28 to Aug. 9 at Doodle Bugs! Children’s Learning Academy, 857 W. Mitchell Hammock Road in Oviedo. The Master’s Academy

Register your child for Camp Eagle, a day camp offered all summer emphasizing Biblical principles. The camps all take place from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Friday (exceptions for Memorial Day and Fourth of July), May 28 to July 26 at The Master’s Academy, 1500 Lukas Lane in Oviedo. The weekly cost ranges from $195-200. Learn more. 

Camp Create

Enroll your child in Camp Create, an art camp from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday-Friday sometime in July– dates have not yet been announced. The camp takes place at A Create Place, 889 S. Lake Jessup Ave. in Oviedo. The cost has not yet been announced. Learn more.

OCC Kids

Oviedo City Church is offering a Christian summer camp for children entering grades K-6. The camp takes place from 9 a.m. to noon Monday-Friday July 15-19 at 300 W. S.R. 434 in Oviedo. There will be a closing program and dinner from 6-7:30 p.m. on Friday. Email Oviedo City Church for information regarding the cost. Spots are limited, and registration is filling up fast. Master Roberts World Class Taekwondo

Enroll your children in a variety of taekwondo camps this summer at Master Roberts World Class Taekwondo. All the camps offered take place from 9 a.m. to noon Monday-Friday, with dates ranging from June 3 to July 26 in weekly sessions at 980 Oviedo Blvd., Suite 1008, in Oviedo. Learn more.

Register your kids for KidStrong, a STEAM-focused camp tailored for ages 4-9. The camps, which are in weekly sessions, take place from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday-Friday (with exceptions for holidays) May 28 to Aug. 9 at KidStrong Oviedo, 345 Mike Roberto Way, Suite 1107, in Oviedo.
