One of the county’s biggest annual events, the Scottish Highland Games, returns. Plus an MLK Day festival and tons of healthy events.

The Scottish Highland Games are back! Plus from dance classes to cars and art exhibitions, this week will have you exploring new adventures. Maybe even take out your nostalgic or nerdy side with Winter Springs Comic, Toy, and More Show.  And it’s topped off with a Martin Luther King Jr. Day festival.

The City of Winter Springs will hold the second of three community workshops on the city’s proposed 2050 comprehensive plan from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16 at The Foundry Church, 1491 E. State Road 434 in Winter Springs. The plan serves as a guide for the city’s future actions through established goals, objectives, and policies. Residents are encouraged to share their vision. Dust off your kilt and get ready for all things Scottish at the 47th annual Central Florida Scottish Highland Games from 8 a.m.-8:15 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, and from 8:45 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19 at Central Winds Park, 1000 Central Winds Drive in Winter Springs. Activities include the famous caber toss, bagpipe competitions, Scottish dancing, archery and ax throwing. There are free shuttle buses running every 15 minutes to marked spots. Learn more.
