Gary Balanoff

Gary Balanoff graduated from the University of Florida in 1977 with a BSJ in Broadcast Communications. He wrote for two years on The Independent Florida Alligator, then two years reporting for WRUF radio, before becoming a news reporter for WCTV In Tallahassee, Capital Bureau Chief for WTVT in Tampa, and three years covering the first launches of the Space Shuttle and other news events for what is now WKMG-TV.

He spent the next 40 years in real estate, as a full time Realtor, and 20 as founder and broker owner of RE/MAX Select in Oviedo before selling it in 2020 and retiring in 2024. During his real estate career he won several production awards, as well as serving for six years on the Orlando Realtors Association board of directors, and three terms as vice president. Gary won the President’s Award and Volunteer of the Year Award, and was Committee Chair of the Year for founding the Orlando Realtors podcast.  He turned his attention to writing, and has published two books, with three more underway.
