Joan Faulkner

Joan Faulkner has been a resident of Oviedo/Winter Springs for 40 years. She is the President/CEO of the local non-profit, HOPE Helps, Inc., and brings over 40 years of Business Development/Management, Marketing/Public and Community Relations to the HOPE team. Joan provides oversight in the operations, development and strategic plan of HOPE and was the leader for HOPE’s first Capital Campaign, to purchase and renovate HOPE’s facilities (Resource Center and Thrift/Boutique) in 2015.  Joan is also a graduate of Leadership Seminole Class 22, as Presidential Alumni member, and served on the Executive Council (2018-2023) and continues to facilitate and participate on the homeless panel for Human Services Day over the past 9 years. In 2018 Joan was recognized with the Papal honor of the Benemerenti Award for her work in helping those less fortunate in the community, as well as recognized for her humanitarian efforts, by The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International / Winter Springs, with the Paul Harris Fellowship Honor in 2018.

A graduate of Rollins College Crummer Management School of Business, Joan also received certificates in Leadership Practice, Fundraising, Board Development, Program Evaluation and Strategic Planning. As wife and mother of 3, she has participated in community volunteering for the past 40 years including being a former PTA Board member, a Girl Scout Leader for 8 years in Central Florida and girls youth volleyball coach at Oviedo Rec. In her spare time Joan is a photographer, potter and loves cooking, boating and spending time with family.
