Find food trucks, live entertainment by David Mander and other vendors at Winter Springs’ Food Truck Artisan Fair from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23 at Trotwood Park, 701 Northern Way, Winter Springs. Food trucks include Fully Loaded Food, Nonnis Minis, A No Roots Kitchen, Notorious P.I.G, Simple Soup N Sammich, Peru Power Food Truck and Bao Houz

Oviedo’s three-day Oktoberfest event features everything German–beer, food, music, entertainment and contests. The festival runs from 5-9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23 and Friday, Sept. 24 and 4-10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25 at Center Lake Park, 299 Center Lake Lane, Oviedo. For more information, call 407-971-5590. Roads will be closed at City Walk Lane and Center Lake Lane, as well as on Center Lake Lane at the entrance to the public parking lot near Oviedo Boulevard, starting Thursday afternoon until Saturday at 11p.m.

Friday night football: The Winter Springs High School Bears play Deltona High School at 7 p.m. at Deltona, 100 Wolf Park Run in Deltona. The Hagerty High School Huskies play Lake Toho High School at 7 p.m. at LTHS. The Oviedo High School Lions play Timber Creek High School at 7 p.m. at TCHS, 1001 N. Avalon Park Blvd., Orlando. 

Anyone with a love of singing is invited to Tuskawilla United Methodist Church’s Choir Kickoff from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25 at TUMC, 3925 Red Bug Lake Road, Winter Springs. The event will feature Grammy award-winning TUMC worship leader Dr. Jeffery Redding. Lunch will be provided. For more information, visit www.tumcfl.org

Longwood’s free community concert series continues with Caribbean Crew playing from 7-9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25 at the Orlando Health Amphitheater in Reiter Park, 311 Warren Ave. in Longwood. There will also be a Battle of the Food Truck event there. A full bar is available.

See Pulitzer Prize-finalist “The Wolves”, which chronicles a team of girls competitive high school soccer players. The film starts with a showing from 7:30-9:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23 and plays through Sunday, Sept. 26 at the UCF School of Performing Arts, 12488 Centaurus Blvd. in Orlando. The East Seminole County VFW Post 10139 will host BBQ for the Badge, a free BBQ to honor first responders at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 11 at 300 Lake Mills Ave. in Chuluota. There will be a cake walk for all ages, a corn hole tournament and a children’s bike parade. 

See community leaders such as Indian Trails Middle School Teacher Brady Boardman, Oviedo Mayor Megan Sladek, Winter Springs High School Principal Peter Gaffney and Oviedo mayor candidate Kevin Hipes get pied in the face to help fund Robbie Poe’s brain cancer treatment. Poe’s parents are Indian Trails Middle School teachers. The event is from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 12 at Dominick’s, 1301 Winter Springs Blvd., Winter Springs.
