Things to do this weekend―Oviedo Homecoming Parade, Candy Buy Back event, Oviedo Farmers Market

Thursday, Nov. 4

The Oviedo High School Homecoming Parade is at 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4 along Lake Jesup Avenue from the intersection of Hillcrest Street and High Street to the high school. Broadway Street will be closed during the parade.

Friday, Nov. 5

If you need to unload excess candy from Halloween, Dr. Troy King’s Dentistry for Children’s annual Candy Buy Back Party is from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5 at 1390 City View Center in Oviedo. There will be food, games and crafts. The office pays $1 per pound with a maximum of 5 pounds. Get more information.

Friday night football: The Winter Springs High School Bears play St. Cloud High School at 7 p.m. at home‒130 Tuskawilla Road in Winter Springs. The Hagerty High School Huskies have a bye week. The Oviedo High School Lions play Lyman High School at 7 p.m. at 865 S. Ronald Reagan Blvd. in Longwood.

Saturday, Nov. 6

More than 60 local vendors selling crafts, plants, fresh produce and ready-to-eat food will be at the Oviedo Farmers Market from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6 at the Lawton House, 200 W. Broadway Street in Oviedo. There will also be live music. Pets are welcomed. Tours of the Lawton House are available during market hours. Get more information.

Get your hands dirty for a good cause at First United Methodist Church of Oviedo’s Community Garden Work Day from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 6 at FUMC, 263 King Street, Oviedo. The church is seeking volunteers of any age and ability. Get more information.
