Seminole’s voter registration deadline is approaching

Editor’s note: This article was edited with information about the Oviedo and Winter Springs elections, which are not until Nov. 8. 

Election season is officially upon Seminole County. There are two countywide elections scheduled for 2022: the Aug. 23 Florida Primary and the Nov. 8 General Election. The registration deadline for each election is 29 days prior to Election Day. Your nonprofit newsroom collected some helpful information to get ready to vote!

How to register

  • The deadline to register to vote in the Florida primary election and update party affiliation is Monday, July 25. Register here. Your address can be updated any time.

Ways to vote

  • In person, on Election Day. Designated polling places are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Find your polling place here.
  • Early voting. The Seminole County Supervisor of Elections sends sample ballots to registered voters with lists of early voting centers. Learn more. Find your sample ballot here
  • Vote by mail. To learn more, click here or call 407-585-VOTE(8683) to start voting from home.

Who’s on the ballot?

  • Local races in the Primary Election include the Seminole County Board of County Commissioners, the Seminole County School Board, County Court Judge and Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor. Click here for a full list of races and candidates.
  • The City of Winter Springs and the City of Oviedo will be in the General Election only. Candidates can still enter for both races. Oviedo candidates can qualify between Aug. 8-12. The incumbents are listed below. Winter Springs candidates can qualify through Sept. 2.

With the Central Florida Foundation and Central Florida Public Media, she co-found the News Collaborative of Central Florida, a collective of independent local news outlets and aligned partners working toward a more informed and engaged Central Florida.
She served as treasurer for the Florida Press Club for seven years and has won awards from the Institute for Nonprofit News, the Florida Press Association and the Society of Professional Journalism. Megan holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the Perley Isaac Reed School of Journalism (now called the Reed College of Media) at West Virginia University.
