Annual Toy Drive and Jeep Decorating Contest

The City of Oviedo will host a virtual trivia night from 7-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24. The event is held every second and fourth Wednesday of the month with a different theme each time. Get more information or call 407-971-5579.

Trivia Night at Oviedo Brewing Company is from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24 at Oviedo Brewing, 1280 Oviedo Mall Blvd., Oviedo. Get more information.

Get in a run before the big feast at the Turkey Trot 5K at 8 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 25 at the Oviedo Mall, 1700 Oviedo Mall Blvd., Oviedo. The event is near the O2B Kids entrance. There will be vendors, music by DJCJ and live performances. Get more information.

Celebrate the first night of Hanukkah with a candle lighting from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 28 at Green Acres Farm, 1700 Marsh Street, Oviedo. Feel free to bring your own Hanukkah menorah, candles and latkes. Get more information.

Donate toys and see Santa and some decked out Jeeps at the annual Toy Drive and Jeep Decorating Contest from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 28 at Oviedo Brewing Company, 1280 Oviedo Mall Blvd., Oviedo. There will be a prize for the best decorated Jeep. Contestants should arrive by 4:45 p.m. There will be a short parade after the event through parts of Oviedo. Get more information.

In 2024, Megan was named Editor of the Year by the Society for Professional Journalism. With the Central Florida Foundation and Central Florida Public Media, she co-found the News Collaborative of Central Florida, a collective of independent local news outlets and aligned partners working toward a more informed and engaged Central Florida.

She served as treasurer for the Florida Press Club for seven years and has won awards from the Institute for Nonprofit News, the Florida Press Association and the Society of Professional Journalism. Megan holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the Perley Isaac Reed School of Journalism (now called the Reed College of Media) at West Virginia University.

Megan also loves yoga, running and playing board games with her family.
