Christopher Robin Jepson, a 36-year Oviedo resident, is the newest member of the Oviedo Community News Board of Directors. OCN, Greater Oviedo and Winter Springs’ only nonprofit newsroom, will benefit immensely from Jepson’s more than 30 years of experience working in nonprofit management. His past titles include development director for both Winter Park Memorial Hospital and Junior Achievement; development director and interim executive director for United Arts of Central Florida; and executive director for Habitat for Humanity Orlando.
Jepson was elected to the Oviedo City Council in 1998, serving one term as a councilman. For 28 years he authored a weekly opinion column for the Winter Park/Maitland Observer newspaper. Jepson said that writing this column was one of the most “personally rewarding and enriching experiences” of his life.
Jepson will help the organization in its mission to provide important, local information that will help Greater Oviedo and Winter Springs residents feel better connected to where they live and more empowered to help shape their community.
