The 44th annual Scottish Highland Games is from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15 and 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 16 at Central Winds Park, 1000 Central Winds Drive, Winter Springs. During this two-day festival, area Scottish clans and societies gather to compete in athletic events, highland dancing and piping to celebrate their rich heritage. Get more information

Monday

Oviedo’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade and Celebration starts at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 17. The parade will travel down Broadway Street, starting at Oviedo High School (601 King Street) and ending at Round Lake Park (891 E. Broadway Street). Following the parade is a free Family Fun Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Round Lake Park. There will be games, food, inflatables, live entertainment and food trucks. Get more information

The Oviedo Movie in the Park event is at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21 at the Oviedo Amphitheatre & Cultural Center, 357 Center Lake Lane in Oviedo. The featured movie is Shark Tale. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs. Fresh popcorn will be provided and food and concessions will be available for purchase. The Cops N’ Cars for Kids Show is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 22 at the Oviedo Mall, 1700 Oviedo Mall Blvd., Oviedo. There will be more than 200 cars on display, food, vendors and an interactive kids’ zone. Get more information

Green Acres Farm’s Second Annual Chili Cook-off is from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 22 at Green Acres Farm, 1700 Marsh Street, Oviedo. The cost is $25 to enter (must register) and $10 to eat and vote. Tickets must be purchased in advance. There will be live music by Valhalla Unplugged. Get more information

Bonkerz Comedy will bring comedian Eliot Chang to the Oviedo Cultural Center at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 22 at 357 Center Lake Lane in Oviedo. Chang is known for his two Comedy Central specials, and seen on E!’s “Chelsea Lately,” and Showtime. Tickets cost $20.
