Sammye Jean Fischer, born Sammye Jean Larrimore on December 28, 1943, passed peacefully on October 28, 2025, at the age of 81. Sammye faced cancer with quiet strength and grace, and throughout her journey she remained deeply loved and lovingly cared for. She lost her only Son Karl Imre Meszaros to lung cancer in March.
Sammye is survived by her devoted daughter, Marcella Meszaros Cameron, her grandchildren Kelsey Cameron, Amanda Cameron, Alyssa Jenkins and Ryan Meszaros, and her great-grandchildren Aria, Ava, and Lain. Each of them carries forward her humor, her gentleness, and the way she always found the good in others.
Sammye had a bright, expressive personality that drew people toward her. She loved the beach, where she felt most at peace, and shared her life with her beloved dogs Rusty and Fred, who were never far from her side. Many of Sammye’s happiest moments were spent around a card table, playing Rummy with her dear friend Bebe, where laughter and friendly teasing filled the room.
Those who knew Sammye will remember her as a loving soul who extended kindness easily, and saw the best in everyone she met. She lived softly, loved deeply, and gave warmth freely.
Her family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Tuskawilla Nursing Home, whose compassion, patience, and attentive care provided Sammye comfort and dignity through her years of illness. Their kindness was a blessing to both Sammye and her family.
Sammye will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew her and in the family she cherished.
Mom, I love you so much. Rest in Peace.
