David Smith
David Smith is a 60-year-old Republican running for Florida House of Representatives District 38. Smith served his first term in the House in 2018 and won re-election in 2020 and in 2022 as well.
Smith served for 30 years in the military, with 52 missions in Iraq, and retired from the U.S. Marine Corps with the rank of colonel. While serving in the House, Smith has been a first-name sponsor on 13 bills, including CS/HB1, an online protection for minors bill that would require social media platforms to prohibit certain minors from creating new accounts and to verify the age of account holders.
