Run for a cause at The 2nd Annual Spring Rising 5k, 10K run and walk, starting at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, March 18 at First United Methodist Church Oviedo, 263 King Street. The race will be along the Cross Seminole Trail. There will be a kids’ 1-mile fun run at 8:45 a.m. After the race, stick around to learn how to plan and tend a home garden from local gardening clubs, farms and nurseries. There will be vendors and free cuttings and seeds. Race proceeds benefit local schools’ underfunded education gardens. Learn more

Most folks who attend this casual, social run start the run just before 6 p.m. Participants start in the parking lot of Oviedo’s Historic Celery Pre-cooler, located at 159 N.
