Dallas Jenkins, Creator of “The Chosen,” to Headline Fundraising Event for Lutheran Haven Retirement Center at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in October
Dallas Jenkins, creator, director and co-writer of “The Chosen,” will headline a fundraising event benefiting Lutheran Haven Retirement Center on Saturday, Oct. 3, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Oviedo. Every ticket sold will support Lutheran Haven Benevolent Care Ministry, which provides provides financial assistance to residents, including retired pastors, missionaries, commissioned church workers, schoolteachers and others who need additional support during their retirement years.
Dallas Jenkins, creator, director and co-writer of the television series “The Chosen,” will headline a fundraising event benefiting Lutheran Haven Retirement Center on Saturday, Oct. 3, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Oviedo.
Jenkins will present “Loaves & Fish: From Failure to ‘The Chosen,’” sharing the personal story behind the creation of the global television phenomenon and offering attendees a behind-the-scenes look at the faith, challenges and perseverance that shaped the series.
“The Chosen” is a multi-season historical drama based on the life of Jesus Christ, told through the perspectives of those who knew Him. Since premiering in 2019, the series has reached more than 250 million viewers worldwide, generated more than 800 million total episode views and built a following of more than 16 million social media followers.
“We are honored to host Dallas Jenkins and learn about his journey in creating one of the most popular Christian programs in history,” said Jerry Griffing, CEO of Lutheran Haven. “Together, we will be taken behind the scenes as he details how God continues to work through him to share this important story with viewers.”
All ticket sales will benefit Lutheran Haven’s Benevolent Care Ministry, which has supported seniors in need since the retirement community’s founding.
