Where they live: Winter Springs

Where they work: Full-time self-employed realtor with Century21 Alton Clark, licensed broker associate. Evans was recognized and named Top 20 Under 40 Realtor by the Orlando Regional Realtor Association.

Prior work experience: Worked as a 911 dispatcher for Seminole County Sheriff from 2014-2018.

Prior political experience: Evans was politically active in Seminole County since he was 17 years old, going door-to-door to help campaign for a Winter Springs City Commission candidate. In January 2024 he was appointed to serve on the Seminole County Board of Adjustment. He ran for school board in 2022 and Winter Springs City Commission in 2020. Evans has served on the Winter Springs Planning and Zoning Board as well as been appointed to two ad hoc committees in Winter Springs.

The platform they’re running on: Improving three grade achievement rates to 50% in lowest performing schools. Address IEP/504 concerns from parents and improve resource accessibility and achievement rates for ESE students. Advocate for community involvement and higher teacher pay for local and state public schools. Work towards increasing morale and public trust in schools. 

Why they are running: Evans has been a volunteer for serving the kids of Seminole County for 15 years through programs like Prosecution Alternatives for Youth and Take Stock in Children. Evans said that the government is the greatest way to help and impact society. He is in his third year as a Take Stock in Children mentor, a reading coach with RAP, a SCPS Community Ambassador and volunteer with Living On My Own. “I love public schools and I love to spend my time making them better,” Evans said.

She served as treasurer for the Florida Press Club for seven years and has won awards from the Institute for Nonprofit News, the Florida Press Association and the Society of Professional Journalism. Megan holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the Perley Isaac Reed School of Journalism (now called the Reed College of Media) at West Virginia University.

Megan also loves yoga, running and playing board games with her family.
